Africa CDC Director General Dr Jean Kaseya said the source of a Nigerian patient’s Ebola infection has not been established. The patient, who was born in Nigeria and lives in Abuja, arrived in the federal capital with her husband on October 3 after staying in Uganda; Ugandan officials said she had earlier travelled to eastern DRC for business. Africa CDC is working with Nigeria, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to trace the infection and prevent a diplomatic crisis. Nigeria confirmed the case on Tuesday, while Uganda has declared its outbreak over.
