Russia and China block UN resolution on Strait of Hormuz

Russia and China vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution aimed at protecting commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Proposed by Bahrain, the resolution received support from eleven of the fifteen members but was deemed biased against Iran by the two countries.
