Rwandan authorities are still seeking more than 1,000 fugitives involved in the genocide that killed nearly 1 million people. Prosecutor Serge Brammertz told the UN Security Council that more work remains. He highlighted three essential issues: enforcement of sentences, supporting national justice efforts, and promoting truth and reconciliation through archives. He noted that 254 persons have been indicted and 154 convicted, with no fugitives at large from the tribunals.
