UCAD: The elections on June 4 mark the end of the central role of the associations in student representation

Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD) is set to undergo a significant change in its student governance with elections scheduled for June 4, 2026. These online elections will allow for the selection of one student representative per level (Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate), thereby replacing the central role of the associations. This reform introduces a logic of direct representation, diminishing the influence of informal structures that have long served as intermediaries between students and university authorities.
