Pharmacies, Traffic, Security… Adama Bictogo Clarifies Measures for Independence Day in Yopougon

The deputy mayor of Yopougon, Adama Bictogo, held a press conference to clarify a municipal decree that had been misinterpreted as ordering the closure of businesses during the 66th independence anniversary celebrations on August 7, 2026. He explained that the decree, signed based on incomplete information, was actually intended to regulate traffic around the official site, not to close pharmacies or shops. After consulting with the organizing committee, he immediately requested a correction, which was issued within 24 hours. The only restrictions will apply to the immediate surroundings of the site from August 6 to 7 for security reasons.
