50 killed in one week as Plateau youths demand justice, state police

Indigenous youth associations in Plateau State reported that over 50 people were killed in one week in renewed attacks on communities in Riyom and Bassa local government areas, with hundreds displaced. They called on the federal government to ensure justice and fast-track the establishment of state police. The president of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, lamented the plight of displaced persons and praised the DSS deployment that had temporarily improved security.

UDA Defends CSs and PSs Accused by Gachagua of Campaigning in Ol Kalou By-Election

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has dismissed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's accusations that Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries were campaigning and bribing voters ahead of the Ol Kalou by-election. UDA also criticized Gachagua for not addressing violence linked to his own political allies, citing MP Wanjiku Muhia's indictment for inciting violence.
