Jamaica experienced a rare island-wide power outage overnight. Energy Minister Daryl Vaz announced Saturday morning that all affected customers had been restored, but he and Prime Minister Andrew Holness called the situation 'unacceptable'. The blackout began Friday at 9pm local time, and the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) is investigating the cause. By 2am Saturday, 20% of customers had power restored; by 5am, 500,000 of 700,000 customers had electricity back.
