Tanzania starts harvesting resin from forests around Meru and Kilimanjaro

Tanzania, through the country's Forest Services Agency, has started harvesting resin from trees in forests around the Meru escarpment and Kilimanjaro. Since the project began nearly eleven months ago, over 300,638 kilograms of resin have been harvested, generating more than 178 million Tanzanian shillings and creating jobs for 170 people. The initiative is well-received by farmers and both local and foreign investors.
