Is the G7 hearing the Global South?

For half a century, a handful of wealthy Western democracies wrote the rules of the global economy. But the world order is becoming crowded: the G7 remains influential but faces a challenger in BRICS, which demands a bigger voice for the Global South. This bloc speaks for nearly half the world's population and accounts for a growing share of global output, energy and raw materials. In between, middle powers—nations too big to ignore and unwilling to pick a side—are gaining momentum.
