Torrential rain: Yellow vigilance announced in Abidjan following a large eviction operation

Sodexam issued a yellow vigilance warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms on Thursday, June 4, 2026, in several communes of Abidjan, including Bingerville, Cocody, Yopougon, and Songon. Rising waters have already been reported in Bingerville at the CIE intersection. These rains come a day after a large-scale eviction operation in Port-Bouët (Zimbabwe district) and Koumassi (Campement district), leaving displaced populations without shelter and exposed to the weather. Eight people died last weekend when a building collapsed in Koumassi due to the rain.
