‘Torture isn’t new to Palestinians’: How Israel learned from colonialism

In 1969, Abdel Latif Ghaith, later director of Addameer, witnessed the torture of Palestinian Rasmea Odeh in a Jerusalem detention center. Odeh was raped with a stick, subjected to electric shocks, and threatened with rape by her father. Her testimony was presented to the UN in 1979.
