Troops of the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, under the 2 Division, rescued five kidnap victims abandoned by fleeing terrorists during counter-terrorism operations in Kogi State. The operation took place in Adankolo Forest following an air interdiction strike on a terrorist hideout. The victims were evacuated to a military medical facility for treatment. Brigade spokesman Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi confirmed the operation.
