United Kingdom: Nigerian charged with murder of compatriot in Lewisham – La Nouvelle Tribune

A Nigerian national, Maxwell Oguanaya, 32, has been charged with murder in the UK following the death of compatriot Taiwo Ekerin, 41, who was attacked in Lewisham on May 24, 2026, and died on May 30. Oguanaya was arrested on June 4, appeared before Ealing Magistrates' Court, and was remanded in custody. A second man, aged 34, was also arrested on June 5 and remains in custody. The Metropolitan Police continues investigations and appeals for witnesses. The next court appearance is scheduled for June 9.
