The US and Iran exchanged strikes for a second consecutive day, straining the fragile April ceasefire. US Central Command said it carried out self-defense strikes on military, surveillance and radar sites in southern Iran. In response, Iran fired ballistic missiles at a US command center in Jordan and targeted bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, causing damage. Oil prices rose to around $95 a barrel after Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
