World Cup 2026: everything you need to know about the new 48-team format

The 2026 World Cup, hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico, will expand to 48 teams and 104 matches. Twelve groups of four teams will be formed, and a round of 32 will be introduced. African representatives include Morocco, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Senegal, Algeria, DR Congo, Ghana, Tunisia, Cape Verde, and South Africa.
