Army confirms death of commanding officer, soldiers in clash with terrorists

A commanding officer of the Nigerian Army was killed by terrorists in Borno, along with six soldiers. The incident occurred on Sunday night while they were responding to an attack on a military formation in Monguno. According to the North-East Joint Task Force spokesperson, the officer encountered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) while heading to the troops' location, leading to his death and that of his men.
