Troops Discover and Detonate IED on Baga–Cross Road in Borno State

Nigerian Army troops, working with the Nigerian Navy Lake Chad and the Civilian Joint Task Force, discovered an improvised explosive device on the Baga–Cross road in Kukawa Local Government Area, Borno State. The device was found at about 7:45 a.m. on October 29, 2026, during a supply-route scanning operation by the 403 Amphibious Brigade and its partners. An explosive ordnance disposal team detonated it in situ, preventing it from threatening troops and other road users. Security forces are continuing route-clearance and surveillance operations in the area.
