Washington cracks down on 600 birth tourism cases staged to ‘illegally’ acquire American passports

The US State Department announced a crackdown on birth tourism, where pregnant women travel to the US so their children can obtain American citizenship. An embassy in West Africa uncovered a network of over 100 foreign nationals using fraudulent documents and visa 'fixers'.
