WHO says six hantavirus cases confirmed so far

The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed six cases of hantavirus out of eight suspected cases following an outbreak on a cruise ship. As of May 8, three deaths have been reported, resulting in a case fatality rate of 38%. The six confirmed cases were identified as infections caused by the Andes virus, known to be transmissible between humans.
