Wike orders developer's arrest, land forfeiture following Abuja building collapse

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate arrest of a developer following the collapse of a hotel structure in Jikwoyi, Abuja. The construction was entirely unauthorized and had been flagged by the Department of Development Control. Although there were no fatalities, injured victims are receiving medical attention. Wike also announced that the land would be reclaimed for public use and that actions would be taken against unapproved constructions.
