FG introduces school textbooks ranking system

The Nigerian federal government has announced the introduction of a National Textbook Ranking System for primary and secondary schools. Education Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa stated that this system aims to ensure that only high-quality, curriculum-compliant textbooks are used in classrooms. Starting from the September 2026 academic session, only ranked textbooks will be approved, effectively eliminating the confusion caused by the proliferation of unregulated materials.
