Haliru Halima Umar, a housewife, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for unlawful possession of 302 rounds of AK-47 ammunition. She pleaded guilty and admitted to acting as a courier for bandits in Plateau State. Judge Hauwa Joseph Yilwa emphasized that banditry poses a serious threat to society. The accused was arrested on July 6, 2025, with the ammunition and N57,100 in cash.
