Eight Nigerian Soldiers Killed as Army Vehicle Hits Landmine

Eight Nigerian soldiers were killed on Saturday when their patrol vehicle struck a landmine in Kinuba village, in Borno State near the Cameroon border. Military sources blamed the attack on Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and said the explosive was detonated remotely. The attack came amid a rise in jihadist violence over the past two years and days after an assault that killed 15 soldiers and five militia members.
