Over 200 patients held for unpaid bills freed at Kavumu hospital through a solidarity action

More than 200 patients at Kavumu hospital in South Kivu were released early this week after being held for months due to unpaid medical bills. Among them were women and children affected by armed conflicts in eastern DRC. The Joseph Kazibaziba Foundation intervened by settling their bills. The economic situation is worsened by insecurity from clashes between the Wazalendo and M23.
