FAO urges Africa to invest more in aquaculture

The UN fisheries division director said on Tuesday that Africa must urgently develop its aquaculture to meet food needs, speaking at the Our Ocean Conference in Kenya. According to the FAO report, aquaculture surpassed capture fishing in 2021 and exceeded 100 million tonnes for the first time in 2024. Global fish and seafood trade is now worth $184 billion.

The third, 'Forêts et cacao durables et compétitifs au Cameroun' (17.5 billion FCFA), promotes sustainable cocoa farming and forestry that respect the environment.
