The Ivorian government has intensified its efforts to clean up the health sector through the 'Zero Illegal Clinic by 2025' operation, closing 1,743 illegal establishments between 2022 and December 2025. Dr. Marie-Josèphe Bitty, director of Private Establishments and Health Professions, announced that there are now no illegal clinics in Côte d'Ivoire from the 80% initially identified. Over 1,500 clinics have been brought into compliance, highlighting the need for strict regulation in a sector where nearly 40% of care is provided by the private sector.
