Yelewata: Pope Leo XIV urges FG to protect vulnerable Benue communities

Pope Leo XIV urged the Nigerian government to protect vulnerable communities in Benue State during the inauguration of a memorial wall for victims of the Yelewata attack on June 13, 2025. The wall, completed by American missionaries led by Judd Saul, bears the names of 271 victims (122 men, 83 women, 66 children). Relief materials were distributed. The appeal was delivered by Bishop Wilfred Anagbe.

Gaza post-‘ceasefire’ deaths hit 983 as Israeli attack targets refugee camp
