CEMAC: which countries really benefit from new bank loans in Q1 2026?

In the first quarter of 2026, banks in the CEMAC zone distributed approximately 2,510 billion FCFA in new loans. Cameroon captured 53.27% of these funds, over 1,337 billion FCFA, followed by Gabon (17.3%), Congo (13%), Equatorial Guinea (8%), Chad (6.7%), and the Central African Republic (1.65%). This uneven distribution reflects structural disparities and differing risk perceptions across economies.
