Taraba council enforces 24-hour curfew in Karim Lamido, affected communities

The Executive Chairperson of Karim Lamido local government council, Virginia Baba Bambur, has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Karim town, Didango, and other affected communities following a surge in violence and unrest. The curfew took effect on June 4, 2026, and will remain until further notice. Security agencies including the Nigerian Army, Police, DSS, and NSCDC are to enforce the directive. A thorough investigation into the causes of the crisis will be conducted and those responsible brought to justice.

Empower Amotekun, OPC to tackle abductions - MURIC tells South-West govs - Daily Post Nigeria

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has urged governors in Nigeria's South-West region to immediately empower the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun), O'dua Peoples Congress (OPC), and other local security outfits to tackle the alarming rate of kidnapping and violent crimes.
