ASUU gives governments ultimatum over 2025 agreement payments

The North West University, Kano chapter of ASUU has called on the Federal and Kano State governments to immediately settle outstanding allowances from the 2025 ASUU-FGN agreement. The union said it is running out of patience and warned that further delays could destabilize the university system. Chapter chairperson Mansur Said noted no significant progress on the implementation of the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance and the Secretariat Assistance Allowance, which were expected to take effect in January 2026. ASUU reaffirmed its commitment to dialogue but warned its patience was wearing thin.
