Tshuapa: Governor Armand Yambe Itoko Ousted by Provincial Assembly

Tshuapa Governor Armand Yambe Itoko was ousted on October 26 after the provincial assembly adopted a motion of no confidence. Initiated by provincial deputy Alain Efoya, the motion cited mismanagement of public affairs, ineffective governance, and the governor’s alleged failure to meet residents’ expectations. The assembly said he was considered to have resigned under applicable law. The vice-governor will serve as acting governor until a new election is held.
