Aviation fuel hike: FG assures seamless 2026 Hajj airlift

The Nigerian federal government is considering policy options to support airlines, including Hajj carriers, in response to rising global aviation fuel costs. The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Amb. Ismail Yusuf, stated that all necessary arrangements for the 2026 Hajj, with the inaugural flight scheduled for May 3, 2026, are progressing as planned. He also affirmed that contracted carriers remain committed to safety and efficiency in operations, despite current economic pressures.
