Police arrest man over alleged murder of married lover in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command arrested 26-year-old Thankgod Ikwugwara for the alleged murder of his married lover, a 33-year-old woman, in Oraifite. The victim's body was found in a culvert on March 14, 2026, after she was reported missing the previous day. Ikwugwara and his accomplice Makuochukwu Uzoigwe, 20, were arrested on June 6 following digital forensic leads. The principal suspect confessed to luring the victim to his home under the pretense of seeking help for an illness, then attacking her with a machete alongside his accomplice.
