A blooming hobby: The patience and joy of growing orchids

For members of the Kenya Orchid Society, orchids are an accessible hobby that rewards patience, brings people together and offers years of enjoyment, despite their reputation as intimidating and expensive plants. The society displayed hundreds of orchids in a range of colours, shapes and sizes at its annual show, held on October 30, 2026, at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi.
