Food Security: Abiodun Targets 10,000 Farmers with Subsidised Inputs

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun announced subsidised inputs for 10,000 rice and cassava farmers, including 2,000 rice growers and 8,000 cassava growers. Farmers will receive fertiliser and herbicides, while 10 tractors and 1,200 smartphones with agricultural apps will be distributed; beneficiaries will pay 30 per cent of the input costs, with the government covering the rest in partnership with IFAD. Abiodun also announced the purchase of 39 tractors, four self-propelled harvesters and other equipment. More than 160,000 farmers and agricultural value-chain operators are registered in the state database, and the government is also investing in storage and processing facilities.
