Former lawmaker Segun Williams leaves APC for PDP in Ogun

Olusegun Williams, a two-term former federal lawmaker for Abeokuta South, has left the APC and joined the PDP in Abeokuta alongside his supporters. He said he was returning to his original political home after accepting a phone invitation from PDP governorship candidate Oladipupo Adebutu, and criticized APC politics as resembling a cult dominated by proxies. Williams urged PDP members to unite and said he was confident the party would win Ogun’s next governorship election. Adebutu defended democratic competition, while PDP candidate for Ogun Central Iyabo Obasanjo urged members to strengthen grassroots outreach and remain loyal to the party.
