Cameroon - Gouache IV, 7 Years Later: 43 Dead and No Lessons Learned

Seven years ago, heavy rain triggered a landslide in the Gouache IV neighborhood of Bafoussam. The clay hillside gave way, burying 11 homes and killing 43 people. The houses had been built on the hillside despite an official prohibition. Seven years later, the article says the hillside and buildings remain, and the lessons of the disaster have not been learned.
