Jeweler killed in Zac Mbao: Neighbor recounts the tragic circumstances

Mouhamadou Khabané Guèye, a jeweler originally from Mbacké, was killed in his shop in Zac Mbao on Saturday at about 9:28 p.m. during an attack in which the assailants allegedly stole gold and cash. A neighbor who helped discover the body remembered Guèye as a pious, generous man who was well liked, particularly for helping women in the neighborhood. Residents reportedly saw him performing ablutions before the evening prayer shortly before the killing; the witness said the victim had been slit at the throat. Guèye leaves a wife and three children, and residents are calling for the suspected perpetrators to be identified and brought to justice.
