Aliko Dangote announced that his group had acquired a 25% stake in Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC), the state-owned company that transports petroleum products across Kenya. He made the announcement at the Financial Times Africa Summit in London. The deal follows the start of construction on a refinery in Lamu, planned to have a capacity of 700,000 barrels per day. Dangote’s stake is part of the 25% of KPC sold to private investors by the Kenyan government.
