Kwankwaso advancing Tinubu’s interests, ADC says

The ADC Presidential Campaign Council accuses former Kano governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of advancing President Bola Tinubu’s political interests by urging Atiku Abubakar to leave the 2027 presidential race in favour of Peter Obi. ADC-PCC spokesman Kola Ologbondiyan called the appeal reckless and self-serving, arguing that it weakens the opposition instead of challenging Tinubu’s government. He said Atiku could win Kano without Kwankwaso’s support and cited the cost of living, hunger, poverty and insecurity as major voter concerns. Ologbondiyan suggested Kwankwaso was focused on his own 2031 presidential ambitions and noted that Muhammadu Buhari won Kano in 2003 and 2007 without Kwankwaso’s backing.
