NSE Investors Hit 2.3 Million on New Listings and Bull Market

The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) attracted 333,043 new investors in the nine months to September, more than triple the growth recorded over the same period last year. Capital Markets Authority data put the investor total at 2.36 million at the end of September, up from 2.027 million at the start of the year. New listings and rising share prices contributed to the increase.

Searches continued off Mayumba on Monday, October 26, two days after the Borr Drilling platform Prospector 5 sank. Of the 115 people on board, 110 were rescued; BW Energy confirmed one death and four people missing, while Gabonese authorities reported five missing. Microsoft offers voluntary exit packages to 60,000 staff

Microsoft is offering voluntary exits to about 60,000 employees, roughly a quarter of its workforce, as it cuts costs while investing heavily in artificial intelligence. The offer covers selected staff up to vice president level in the United States, Canada, India and Britain; some groups, including employees in data centers, sales and marketing, are excluded. It is the company’s second voluntary buyout offer this year, after about 30% of eligible employees reportedly accepted an early-retirement plan in April. Microsoft had 223,000 employees globally at the end of June, down from 228,000 at the end of 2025.
