Police arrest suspected Aiye cult member and recover pistol in Ogun State

Police in Ogun State arrested Idris Obarayi, 30, suspected of belonging to the Aiye confraternity, and recovered a locally made pistol and a live cartridge. The arrest followed reports of gunshots and screams in the Oke Ago-Owu area of Abeokuta on Tuesday. Police spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi said suspects fled when SWAT operatives arrived, abandoning the firearm; Obarayi was later arrested at a hideout in Ita Ogboni, Igbole, at about 5:45 p.m. He allegedly admitted to being an Aiye member and owning the firearm, while police continue efforts to apprehend the other suspects.
