RHDP in Port-Bouët: Alassane Ouattara removes Ibrahim Konaté and appoints Soro Tiotiho

In a decision dated October 28, 2026, Gilbert Koné Kafana, acting on behalf of RHDP leader Alassane Ouattara, dismissed Ibrahim Konaté as head of the party’s regional coordination in Port-Bouët and appointed Soro Tiotiho in his place. The change follows months of internal dissent and the RHDP’s 8,600-vote result in the commune during the December 2025 legislative elections. In May 2026, groups of party activists had publicly criticized Konaté’s top-down leadership and lack of consultation. Port-Bouët is a strategic political battleground for the RHDP, which is seeking to gain ground against the traditionally established PDCI-RDA.
