Lagos Shuts Ejigbo Fire Station After Alleged Assaults

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has indefinitely closed its Ejigbo station after personnel were allegedly attacked on October 13 and 16, 2026. The Service said the first incident was reported to Ejigbo Police Station, but the alleged assailants later returned and disrupted operations despite intervention by senior police authorities. Controller-General Margaret Adeseye condemned the attacks and called for a thorough, impartial investigation. Staff and firefighting equipment will be temporarily moved to an undisclosed location to protect them and maintain emergency response operations.
