Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe launched the Ksh1.47 trillion (USD11.4 billion) AgriConnect Compact on June 17, 2026, aiming to transform Kenya's agriculture into a modern, tech-driven sector and create 2.482 million jobs by 2030. The government will inject Ksh491.72 billion to unlock Ksh984 billion in private investment through PPPs and credit guarantees. The plan targets a 50% reduction in staple imports and a 60% increase in high-value exports, and includes digital extension services and agritech platforms.
