Court faults CAC, orders restoration of NYCN's registration

The Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to restore the registration of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN). Justice Binta Nyako dissolved the Interim Management Committee set up by the CAC and the Ministry of Youth Development, declaring it unlawful. The CAC had withdrawn NYCN's certificate of registration in October 2025 and appointed a nine-member interim committee chaired by Buhari Shehu. The plaintiffs, including Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, challenged the action, arguing that the CAC's powers under CAMA 2020 violate the Constitution.
