Deployment of Blue Helmets to Support FARDC in Securing Mambasa

MONUSCO has decided to send a reconnaissance team to Mambasa-Centre to support FARDC in the fight against ADF rebels. This deployment aims to enhance civilian protection as a precarious calm is observed following recent killings. However, the reconnaissance convoy faced barricades set up by youth opposing their presence, complicating the Mission's efforts. MONUSCO calls on community leaders to raise awareness among the population to combat misinformation and promote collaboration.
