Forest Carbon: Côte d'Ivoire Becomes a Model for Cambodia in Taï

A delegation from Cambodia, accompanied by the World Bank, visited Côte d'Ivoire from June 15 to 17, 2026, for knowledge sharing on REDD+ and carbon payments around Taï National Park. The Payment for Emission Reductions Program (PRE) verified approximately 20 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent between 2020 and 2023, with an additional 8 million expected for 2024. Côte d'Ivoire received $55 million for 10.6 million verified tonnes and negotiated an additional $23 million at COP30. Over 21,000 beneficiaries received nearly $4.6 million via mobile money.
