Guber poll: Osun Assembly kicks as INEC redeploys REC

The Osun State House of Assembly has protested the redeployment of Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2026 governorship election. Speaker Adewale Egbedun warned that such changes could undermine the integrity of the election, citing allegations of partisanship and plans to transfer other electoral officials. He called for free and fair elections, condemning attempts to influence the electoral process in the state.
