$2.1m alleged land deal: Why claimants took Wike’s son to the EFCC

Two firms, Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited, petitioned the EFCC over an alleged $2.1 million land deal involving Jordan Nyesom-Wike, son of the Federal Capital Territory minister. Their lawyer, Ibrahim Waru, said Jordan allegedly promised to secure 30 hectares each in Katampe and Guzape, then received $2 million to facilitate the allocations and a further $100,000 as his personal fee. The claimants say the cash was handed over in Gwarinpa on September 26, 2025, in the presence of witnesses, but the land was not delivered and Jordan became unreachable. The EFCC acknowledged the petition but had yet to act, while the civil case remains before the FCT High Court; proceedings were adjourned to December 1.
